Mother Earth
Mother Earth is a beautiful dwelling, a mysterious home,
Diverse in so many ways, its colorful skies, the seas with their foam.
The Universe it’s playground, the Milky Way its hearth,
Giving us shelter, feeding us, and delighting us with its warmth.
Flowers spring up when the season is in bloom,
Making the heart patter with excitement, with wonder we swoon;
In Hawaii, exotic blossoms boast their splendour, their elegance,
Enraptured by their complexity, their variety, their radiance, their fragrance.
The Hummingbird hums, the cuckoo pecks, and the cute ducks cluck,
The wind whispers gently cross the valleys and the crags, amid the ice fjords, the swamps, and even the deepest muck . . .
Upon the plains, and yet rages upon the highest mountains;
And the lightening strikes furiously, hurriedly, powerfully upon the forests, within towns.
Wondrous creatures roam the Earth . . . gentle deer and butterflies,
Rainbows and waterfalls shower us with grandeur, and with awe, we marvel we sigh;
Yet mighty buffalo and bears roar, and the tiniest ladybugs flutter about too,
Making Mother Earth a true guardian, showering her blessings upon the few . . .
We should treasure Mother Earth and all her miraculous sights,
The Niagara Falls, volcanoes . . . and even the Aurora Borealis lights;
Her staggering variety, her magnificent harmony, symmetry, and congruity,
Give witness to the power and majesty of Mother Earth in all her glory.
We in return must care for her, nurture her, shelter her and upon her dote,
For we only have one Earth, one planet, one shelter, one abode;
We must prevent her desecration, her defilement, her ruination, and her denigration.
So let’s join hands, join hearts, and be one global nation . . . one global nation
To save Mother Earth.
